Calling Back Missed Calls
Every call nobody answered gets called back
What is Calling Back Missed Calls?
Calling Back Missed Calls is a method that retrospectively scans unanswered phone calls, calls every number back, and establishes whether the need is still live. luup can run this skill backwards in time: the historic pile of missed calls is swept once, after which only new missed calls are handled, and the ones with a live need become records.
The missed-call list is a screen nobody opens; every line on it is a lost job.
Every missed number is called back; if the need is still there, a record is opened.
How does it work?
- 1
Missed calls are gathered
Unanswered and engaged calls are listed by date.
- 2
Repeats are merged
Calls from the same number are collapsed into one person.
- 3
They are called back
If the Best Time to Call is on, the call goes at the hour most likely to be answered.
- 4
It becomes a record
If the need is live a record opens; if not, the reason is noted.
What does it need?
A skill with a missing precondition is not hidden in the panel — it is shown with the gap. Hiding what is required only produces disappointment during setup.
- Call history
- Consent and Opt-In Checks
What it deliberately does not do
Claiming a result is easy. What follows is not a claim but a set of limits the product enforces mechanically: the skill cannot do these things, because a layer that cannot be switched off stops it.
- It makes no callback during quiet hours.
- It never dials the same number more attempts than you allow.
- It does not invent a reason for a missed call; what it cannot classify stays unclassified.
Where it sits on the autonomy ladder
A 0–4 ladder decides how much the assistant may do without asking you, and it is set separately for each channel and each topic. The meaning of each rung is the same across every skill.
Calling Back Missed Calls comes into play at rung 2 of the ladder.
- 0
Listens only
Writes nothing to customers; it only records.
- 1
Drafts a reply
Writes it but does not send it; the draft waits in the panel.
- 2
Waits for approval
The reply is ready; sending it is your decision.
- 3
Answers on its own
Sends, and stops to call you in when it gets stuck.
- 4
Full authority
Books, quotes and collects payment.
Wherever the ladder sits, every outgoing message passes the Conversation Rules and the consent check; neither layer can be switched off.

You set the retrospective window; most businesses start with the last thirty days. The first run sweeps the historic pile once, after which the skill deals only with new missed calls.
A missed call is the most concrete proof of loss a business owns: the person already rang you, so their intent is established. It converts far better than finding new customers, and its setup cost is close to zero.
A call back is the answer to a call the person started themselves; it is not promotion. The assistant says why it is calling in the first sentence, and keeps it short if the need has passed.
